TOPIC: THE NECESSITY OF GODLY CHARACTER

SCRIPTURE: Let no man despise your youth but be thou an example of the believers; in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.’ 1 Timothy 4:12.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: People are at risk of losing whatever they think they have if they don’t have godly character.

Godly character is crucial for life and destiny fulfillment. People are at risk of losing whatever they think they have if they don’t have godly character. Your character is a major treasure or asset of your life. Therefore, it is very important to uphold godly character.

Now, why must we uphold godly character?

1. We live in a time where the devil is determined to take as many souls as possible to hell.

We live in a time where the devil is determined to take as many souls as possible to hell because he knows that his time is short. Revelation12:12 makes it clear that the devil has gone forth with great wrath knowing that his time is short. We live in a time where the devil is practically doing overtime unleashing his wickedness. This is one reason we must uphold godly character.

2. We live in a season of abundant iniquity with the love of many waxing cold.

Matthew 24:12 says, And because iniquity shall abound the love of many shall wax cold. We live in a time of abundance of iniquity where the love of many is waxing cold, so, we need to know what to do to uphold godly character.

3. We live in a time where sin is on the lookout for victims.

These days, you don’t have to look for sin to sin, sin looks for you. Whether it is on the internet or on the streets, sin is confronting you almost everywhere you turn. Today, a lady can go out on the street, meet a man, and tell him, “I like you,” and before long, they are on the highway to sin. In those days, it was an abomination for a lady to behave like that. Men were the ones that went after ladies and not ladies after men.

Beloved, these are some of the reasons that make it necessary for us to uphold godly character in our world today. Endeavour to maintain godly character. Refuse to follow the corruption of the world; rather, win your world for God by the demonstration of godly character.

Remember this: People are at risk of losing whatever they think they have if they don’t have godly character.
