Prayer Amplifiers

TOPIC: PRAYER AMPLIFIERS  

SCRIPTURE: Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Mathew 17:21  

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your authority and power at the place of prayer can be intensified by fasting, breaking enemy yokes.

Our anchor scripture mirrors the critical importance of prayer and fasting in the life of the believer. There are certain exploits a person may not be able to do if he is not a person of prayer and fasting. It is also vital to note that the potency of prayer can be amplified.

It is true that the voice of man can produce sound on its own. But if that sound is to be more audible to have a wider reach of audience, it must be electronically amplified by sound amplifiers.

Also, chemical reactions can occur on their own. But if the reaction is to be accelerated, catalysts are needed to speed up the process and produce more drastic results in a shorter time. In the same manner, prayer can be amplified.

And in today’s study, we shall be exploring the factors that enhance the potency and effect of prayer.

1. Praying with fasting (Mathew 17:21).

Praying alone produces results, but when you add fasting to the prayer, it shifts it to another level.  Isaiah 40:31 says, But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 58:6-8 also validates the point above.

So, when you pray, you have results, and when you pray with fasting, you amplify the results that you can have. You can speed up the reaction process.

 

There are two things to note concerning fasting:

1. Fasting intensifies spiritual power and authority, breaking enemy yokes. Your authority and power at the place of prayer can be intensified by fasting, thereby breaking enemy yokes.
2. Fasting amplifies desire and desperation.

When you fast, you are letting God know that whatever you are asking for is not a joke, that you mean business. Jeremiah 29:13 says, And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

2. Praying in the spirit (Romans 8:26)

Praying in the language of the spirit is an amplifier of prayer. The Bible says in Ephesians 6:18, Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 

Now, what does praying in the spirit do for us? How does it amplify the effect of prayer?

1. Praying in the spirit helps people to handle issues that they are naturally unaware of. In the natural realm, you are not aware of the issues that you handle when you pray in the spirit. Romans 8:26 corroborates this: Likewise, the spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Beloved, when you pray in your normal language, you are limited by your understanding and perception. But when you pray in the Spirit, you cross that limitation and step into realms where you start dealing with issues you know nothing about before you start praying. And that brings accelerated answer to the prayer because you are praying with specificity.

REMEMBER THIS: Your authority and power at the place of prayer can be intensified by fasting, breaking enemy yokes.

2. Endeavour to take a fast at least once a week
3. Pray abundantly in the spirit
