TOPIC: LOVE AND HEALTH
SCRIPTURE: He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1John 4:8
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you carry love, you carry life, and where life flows, death bows.
Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that Christianity is not an activity-based ritual but a fruit-bearing walk with God that is evidently manifested in our love for Him and love for others.
Love is not a weak emotion. It is not mere sentiment. Love is a spiritual force. Love is a life-giving power. When you carry love, you carry life, and where life flows, death bows.
The life of God flows out of the love of God. And love is strong enough to withstand disease and death.
It is the love of God and love for God that powers my day-to-day ‘abnormal’ schedule. You can imagine someone ministering at the Commanding the Day Midnight Prayer on Monday, then flying overnight and arriving in Tanzania for a crusade. Upon arrival at the airport in Dar Es Salam, those who received us asked, “Would you like to go to the hotel and refresh a little before the meeting?” And the answer was, “No, let us go straight to the venue.” And God honored His Name with all manner of drastic manifestations.
Please note the following about love:
- Love Is Stronger Than Death
Love is strong enough to withstand the forces of disease and death.
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death… the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame. Songs of Solomon 8:6
Love is as strong as death, that means love can confront death and overcome it. Dorcas walked out on death by her practice of love. People were not willing to see her go; she was such of great help to them that they had to send for Peter to come pray her out of death. And Peter responded with the fire of God. Heaven must have proclaimed in response to the people’s reaction and Peter’s prayer: “This kind of person is not permitted to die now.” And that death was instantly reversed by the force of love. Acts 9: 36-42.
There are people in our days that the people are the ones praying and wishing them death because of the magnitude of wickedness, callousness, greed and self-centeredness that characterize their lives. There are people who died in this country that people came out openly to rejoice and celebrate.
Paul the apostle was stoned, dragged out of the city, and left for dead in Acts 14:20. But the disciples surrounded him with love – the same love with which he had loved them. As they surrounded him, he stood up on his feet and departed to the next city.
- Love prevents the root of bitterness.
Hebrews 12:15 says, Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled.
If bitterness is allowed, it becomes the root of trouble. It troubles and defiles a person. Allowing bitterness, hatred, and lovelessness into your life is a direct invitation to a life of trouble and strife.
After preaching a message, Dr. Mrs. Becky Paul-Enenche said to me, “You are the only person I know who can preach a message like this.” and I asked, “Why?” She said, “I have seen people who hurt you badly and how you released them as if nothing happened. I have seen how you forgot about the hurt to the point where it appeared as if nothing ever happened.”
Some of those people are even on a monthly salary now.
Bitterness is toxic. It affects the heart. It affects the body. It affects the spirit. Many sicknesses are rooted in unresolved offenses.
- Love Sustains Divine Health
The Life of God flows out of the love of God. And the Life of God is stronger than any disease.
Where love reigns, strife cannot thrive, and where strife is absent, sickness finds no comfortable atmosphere.
Love keeps your spiritual atmosphere clean.
1 John 4:16 says, God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
If you dwell in love, you dwell in God, and if you dwell in God, you dwell in life.
Divine health is not only about what you eat; it is about what you permit in your heart. Some people fast and pray but still bear grudges. They speak in tongues but harbor resentment. That contradiction weakens spiritual authority. You cannot hate deeply and live healthily at the same time. Love is medicine, immunity and preservation-capsule.
Remember This: When you carry love, you carry life, and where life flows, death bows.
PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to walk in love. Deliver me from bitterness, hatred, and unforgiveness. Let Your Life flow through me and preserve me from disease, premature death, and systemic trouble, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Search your heart and release anyone you are holding in offense.
- Refuse to rehearse past hurts; rehearse God’s goodness instead.

QUOTE: When you spend time with God, the things in your life that can take you to hell become exposed, and you have the opportunity to repent of them. Culled from the book: Who are You? by Dr. Paul Enenche.
DAILY BIBLE READING: Ezra 4-6
AMAZING FACT: Medical research has consistently shown that chronic bitterness and unforgiveness can increase stress hormones in the body.
PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: May the love of God flow stresslessly out of your heart in this season in Jesus’ Name.
