TOPIC: THE POWER OF SEPARATION

SCRIPTURE: And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. GENESIS 32:24.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Public victories are products of secret encounters.

It has been established that the power to prevail is connected to the power of separation. Great destinies are the products of seasons of strategic isolation and separation.

For example, every remarkable thing that happened in the life of Jacob began from one phrase: “And Jacob was left alone.” When you go through history, you will see people who were separated and prevailed because of their separation.

Now, let us see Scriptural examples of those who engaged the power of separation and what became of them.

1. Jacob (Genesis 32:24-29). Jacob was left alone, and in that separation, he encountered an Angel of the Lord. That encounter brought a drastic change in his life and destiny.
2. Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3). In Genesis 12:1-3, God told Abraham, “Abraham, I want to do something with you, but I can’t do it where you are.” (Genesis 12:1 paraphrased). So, Abraham had a season of separation and isolation that took him to his destination and ushered him into his destiny. That is why people who are married to their traditions are divorced from their destination.
3. Moses (Exodus 3:1-3). Moses was brought up in the house of Pharaoh, King of Egypt, and he lived there for 40 years. He had to leave the palace for the wilderness, and that was the beginning of his separation and isolation. The power to prevail in life and destiny came upon Moses in that season of separation. God does not do important things casually and carelessly.

Many of us are too casual with God to see serious things with Him.

Beloved, isolation precedes manifestation. There must be separation before demonstration. Those who make serious impacts in life are products of secret encounters. If you ever see anyone making great impacts in their generation, you will discover that they must have had secret encounters in their seasons of separation and isolation, the kind of encounter that David had at the backside of the desert. That was also the kind of encounter that Moses had.

Beloved, public victories are products of secret encounters. Behind everyone making great impacts in their generation are secret encounters.

Remember This: Public victories are products of secret encounters.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

1. Make it a point of duty to separate yourself from the noise of this world for personal consecration and intimacy with God.
2. Cry out to God for a life-changing encounter in your season of isolation, especially in the Word.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, help me to stay in the world of Your glory. Lead me away from the things that keep me from You. Separate me from the things that hinder me, Lord in Jesus’ Name
