TOPIC: THE DANGERS OF INDISCIPLINE

 SCRIPTURE: Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil.  Ephesians 5:15-16 (AMP)

 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: There can be no destiny without discipline.

It has been confirmed throughout the scripture that God never created anyone to be wasted. No one was created by God to be irrelevant.

However, there are enemies of destiny that want to waste people’s lives and render them useless on earth. And because we don’t have spare lives like vehicle spare parts, you must be ready to deal with any destiny enemy that wants to deal with you. If you are interested in living a purposeful and accurate life on earth, you must be determined to deal with enemies of destiny.

So, today, we shall X-ray one deadly enemy of destiny which is indiscipline or the lack of self-control. A life that lacks self-control is the same as a life without discipline. It is a life where everything goes. This is where a person has no power to do what he wants to do. The life of indiscipline renders people useless.

Please take note of these about discipline and self-control:

1. There can be no destiny without discipline. Esau lost his destiny because he lacked discipline or self-control. He could not say, ‘NO’ to his appetite. He could not say, ‘NO’ to his stomach and that ruined his life and destiny.
2. If you cannot control yourself, you can never control your destiny. If you cannot control yourself, you cannot control your life, and you will never be able to control anything and anyone. Until you are ready to change something inside you, you can change nothing outside of you. There are men who want to change their wives not knowing that they must change first, then their wives will follow.
3. Self-control is a product of mind control. When a man cannot control his mind, his life will be out of control (Proverbs 4:23). If you cannot control what goes into your mind, you will never be able to control what flows through your life. And so, you will never be able to control your destiny.
4. If your flesh does not respect your will, nobody and nothing will respect your life. If your will tells you, “Don’t go out with that man or woman; he/she is not your husband/wife”, and you continue to go out with the person, then you lack discipline or self-control.

Beloved, endeavour to live a life of discipline so you can escape the dangers of indiscipline.

Remember this: There can be no destiny without discipline.

ASSIGNMENT (S):

1. Take out time for periodic fasting and prayer for personal consecration to build up your spirit man and tame the flesh.
2. Ask God for the grace for discipline and self-control.
3. Say No! to a life of sin.

 PRAYER: Lord, I receive grace for a life of discipline and self-control as I journey through life. Let the flesh be buried in You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
