TOPIC: SET APART BY GODLY CHARACTER

SCRIPTURE: And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm. Daniel 1:20.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Godly character sets a person apart; righteousness singles out a person from the crowd.

Looking at the life of Daniel, you would realise that it was his character that was largely responsible for his placement in high positions. Daniel was distinguished from other wise men of Babylon because of his godly character. Daniel 1:8 says, But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. And by virtue of his godly character, Daniel 1:20 says, And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm. Daniel was set apart from others by the strength of godly character. Godly character sets a person apart; righteousness singles a person out from the crowd.

Daniel 6:4 says, Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. Daniel’s enemies were looking for his faults, but they couldn’t find any. They seemed to have thought within themselves, “This Daniel is faultless! Are we dealing with an angel or a person?” You see, your friends can look for faults in you, let alone your enemies. But Daniel was positioned at the top at the frequency of godly character. My counsel is, make up your mind to be set apart from others by maintaining a godly character.

Remember this: Godly character sets a person apart; righteousness singles a person out from the crowd.

ASSIGNMENT:

  1. Refuse to be lost in the crowd.
  2. Let your godly character set you part from others.

PRAYER: Father, I ask that You set me apart from the crowd. I receive the grace to live right, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
