TOPIC: Praising God Through Songs And Dance 

SCRIPTURE: Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Psalm 150:4.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If the devil cannot tie your leg in dance, he cannot tie your life in any form of prison or captivity.

Singing songs of praise is one dimension of expression of praise. Psalm 28:7 says, The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. Similarly, Psalm 40:2-3 says, He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. The psalmist also says in Psalm 69:30, I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

Another dimension of praise is the dance. Psalm 149:3-4 says, Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. Psalm 150:4 corroborates it, Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

So, we are not just exercising our body while dancing; it is a scriptural command. We are commanded to praise God with the dance. We are to praise God with the timbrel and dance, and with stringed instruments and organs.

Beloved, the dance is part of your praise. If the devil cannot tie your leg in dance, he cannot tie your life in any form of prison or captivity. Your dance is a seed that says, “Very soon I will celebrate.” You know how people dance during a naming ceremony, child dedication, or house dedication? That is how you are going to dance as God is turning your life around in this season. So, engage the weapon of both songs and dance to praise the Lord.

Remember this: If the devil cannot tie your leg in dance, he cannot tie your life in any form of prison or captivity.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Make up your mind to praise God through songs and dance.
2. Live a life of thanksgiving and praise.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your goodness in my life. I am forever grateful, Lord. Be glorified Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
