IN TIMES LIKE THIS
SCRIPTURE:
_But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee. When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour… Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life._ – Isaiah 43: 1
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
This is not the time to serve God casually; this is the time to burn for God and burn the devil out.
The economy is falling. We are living in times of uncertainty, insecurity and brazen terrorism. These are times where there seems to be fear on every side, economies are failing with high level corruption.
But we have a consolation in the Word of God. In times of uncertainty, the sure Word of God becomes our anchor and stay.
Now, what do we do in times like this?
1. Maintain Unwavering Faith In God.
In times of uncertainty, insecurity, and fear on every side, what is required is unwavering faith and confidence in God. Habakkuk 2: 4 says, _Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith._
It takes faith for the just to live. It takes faith for the just to survive dangerous, fearful, and uncertain times.
As long as faith is on ground, there is no danger to fear. There is no force under heaven that has the capacity to take out a man whose life is sustained by faith. But it also means something serious: the just can die when fear and unbelief are allowed to dominate his life. Faith is not optional in times like this; it is survival equipment.
_If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come_ – Job 14: 14.
Everything seemed to be against Job, but he refused to shake. He remained firm under pressure because he understood that what was happening was not permanent.
How is this faith built and sustained?
A. Eating the Word.
Sit down with the Scripture, read and diligently study it, and pray it in. Turn the promises of God over in your spirit until they become stronger than the news around you – Romans 10:17.
B. Acting the Word [Joshua 1:8].
Put the Word into action.
C. Speaking the Word [2 Corinthians 4:13].
The more you speak faith, the more fear dies. The more you declare God’s promises, the more doubt disappears. Unwavering faith in God is your number one key in times like this.
*2. POSSESS DEPTH IN GOD.*
Depth in God determines sustenance in life. The secret place of the Most High is the secret of security in life. Psalm 91: 1
If you want God to stand by you, you must stand with Him, for Him and in Him.
This is the time to go deeper in prayer, in the Word and in worship. This is the time to increase spiritual fire. Depth in God is your preservation, let your relationship with God move from convenience to commitment.
3. ACTIVATE THE COVENANT OF SACRIFICE.
Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice – Psalm 50: 5
After the flood, Noah built an altar and offered burnt offerings unto the Lord. The Bible says the Lord smelled a sweet savour and made the decision never to curse the earth anymore. He also made the declaration: _While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease_ – *Genesis 8:20 – 22.*
What followed that was the blessing. _And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth._ *Genesis 9: 1*
Sacrifice activates covenant. Sacrifice can break a curse over a land and in your personal life. Sacrifice positions you in the realm of exemption.
Beloved, in times like this, nothing is guaranteed for the man who is not committed to God. But dedication to God provokes preservation. Sacrifice is a secret of preservation.
Remember This:
This is not the time to serve God casually; this is the time to burn for God and burn the devil out.
ASSIGNMENT:
Decide to make your life count for God at a time when the faith of many is uncertain.

Father thank you for your word, I receive grace to walk with You and work for You Lord, in Jesus Name.
