The Tragedy Of Unrighteousness

TOPIC: THE TRAGEDY OF UNRIGHTEOUSNESS

SCRIPTURE: Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:1-2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Unrighteousness causes separation between God and man.

It has been established that everyone was created by God to fulfill destiny. God created everyone for a life of colour and honour. However, not everyone is fulfilling destiny or living this life of honour. Many are living in shame because of iniquity.

Now, how does iniquity hinder a person from fulfilling destiny and living a life of honour?

1. Unrighteousness causesseparation between God and man.

Unrighteousness causes separation between God and man, and separation from God is separation from destiny. Separation from God is separation from glory and honour.

The absence of God is the absence of good.
Isaiah 59:1-2 says: Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

This was what happened when man and God became separated in the Garden of Eden. They were driven out from that garden due to their disobedience.

2. Unrighteousness turns away good things from man.
   Jeremiah 5:25 says: Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

For example, if someone steals N1,000,000, the N100 million that was meant to come to him could be withheld or diverted to someone else. You can’t expect to receive blessing from crookedness. If God releases a certain amount of money to you, and you don’t show enough responsibility and integrity in managing it, He can retrieve it from  you and give it to someone else who will use it rightly.

My counsel is: Do not allow any good thing to be withheld from your life on the basis of crookedness and recklessness.

REMEMBER THIS: Unrighteousness brings a separation between God and man.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Refuse to be separated from God by iniquity.
2. Refuse to allow good things to be diverted from you by iniquity.

PRAYER: Father, I ask that You deliver me from the lifestyle of sin and iniquity. Draw me closer to Your Yourself, Lord, that I may experience Your goodness in my life, in Jesus’ Name.
