 TOPIC:THE PROFIT  OF EXCELLENCE AND DISTINCTION

SCRIPTURE: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.  Matthew 5:16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Excellence is a major department of worship.

 The Scripture makes it clear that God’s plan for His people is for them to occupy the topmost top positions in life (Matthew 5:14). The Most-High God designed, created and destined His children to occupy the high places of the earth.

Whatever is your profession or occupation, the agenda of God is that you are second to none in your field. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, etc. were second to none in their days.

Now, what is the profit of excellence and distinction?

In our study today, we shall be looking at the fact that excellence or distinction in life brings glory to God (Matthew 5:16).

Kindly take note of the following:

1. A major reason for man’s creation is the glorification of the Creator (Isaiah 43:21). Beloved, you were created by God to glorify Him with your life. Your words, actions and results are meant to bring honour and glory to God in the presence of others. They are to see your lifestyle of excellence and glorify God. So, in all that you do with your life, ensure that glorifying God is your preeminent consideration (1 Peter 2:9).
2. Your distinction is a major proof of your worship of God. The meaning is, your outstanding performance is an instrument of worship. God does not only feel worshipped when you lift your hands in praise and worship to Him. Yes, that is a major part of worship, but God also feels worshipped when you excel in your career or endeavour and everyone knows you are a child of God.  That is worship!
3. Our worship encompasses our words, songs, character, lifestyle, testimony, etc.  Excellence is a major department of worship. Your results in life, the display of quality and excellence, are a major department of your worship. When people want to follow God because of how qualitative your life is, that is your worship.

Beloved, determine to live a life of excellence and distinction so you can bring glory and honour to God.

Remember this: Excellence is a major department of worship.

ASSIGNMENT (S):

1. Be deliberate about living a life of excellence. Determine to stand out in life.
2. Prayerfully ask God for the impartation of the Spirit of excellence.

 PRAYER: Lord, thank You for Your Word to me today. I receive from You the Spirit of excellence. let my life pull people to your kingdom by virtue of distinction and outstanding existence, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
