MONDAY 13TH OCTOBER 2025
TOPIC: FAITH AND THE WORD
SCRIPTURE: But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
Romans 10:8
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you lack the light of your right, you lack the might for the fight.
Scriptures reveal that faith is essential to the life and existence of the child of God. Faith is the life-wire of the child of God. That is why Habakkuk 2:4 says, Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. That is, the life of the just is in jeopardy without his faith. It is possible for the just to die miserably when faith is not in place.
Faith is essential to the life of the just. But the question is, how do we build faith? Romans 10:17 gives us the answer: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So, the Word of God is essential to faith. Faith is essential to life, and the Word is essential to faith. The child of God needs faith, and faith needs the Word of God. Can you see the equation?
Now, if faith is essential to every child of God, and the Word is essential to faith, it is crucial, therefore, to understand what faith is in relation to the Word.
What is faith? Faith is receiving the Word of God, believing the Word, declaring the Word, behaving the Word, and then experiencing the results of the Word. A man or woman of faith is someone who receives the Word, believes the Word, declares the Word, behaves the Word, and experiences the results of the Word. Romans 10:8-10 corroborate this.
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Also, concerning the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25-26, the Scripture says she had been with this affliction for twelve years and had spent all that she had, but instead of getting better, her condition grew worse. Then look at what happened, from Verse 27 to 29 of the same Mark Chapter 5: When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
The sequence is clear – hearing, believing, speaking, acting, and result.
Now, let us examine the sequence of actions executed by the woman with the issue of blood:
First, she heard about Jesus. That is receiving the Word. Second, she believed in her heart, confessing her faith inwardly. Third, she expressed her faith by boldly declaring: “If I may but touch…”
Fourth, she took an action by touching Jesus. That is, she acted the Word.
And fifth, immediately, the result followed: the fountain of her blood dried up. Hallelujah!
So, as far as faith is concerned, there is something someone must hear, believe, say and do. Our problem is that there are things we claim to believe, yet we don’t say anything, and we don’t do anything. We want things to happen on their own accord.
Now, how does the Word influence or affect faith?
The Word of God unveils and reveals the promise of God for the child of God, and that impacts faith. The Word of God sheds light on your right, and the light of right impacts might for fight. When you lack the light of your right, you lack the might for the fight. When you know what is yours, and the devil is trying to resist you, you can engage that devil in a fight. There is the light of right that comes from Scripture to impart you with the might to fight.
Beloved, the Word of God is the title document of your inheritance. It shows you what is yours, and that builds your faith.
REMEMBER THIS: When you lack the light of your right, you lack the might for the fight.
ASSIGNMENT (S):
- Camp with the Word; let no day pass without you taking into your spirit at least a verse of the scripture.
