 SCRIPTURE:   The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be upright is to possess dominion.

It has been established that dominion is rooted in uprightness. To be upright is to take charge and dominate.
Proverbs 28:1 makes it clear: The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.”

Now, what is a lion?
Proverbs 30:30 says,
A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any.

The lion symbolizes authority and dominion. The righteous are likened to the lion; that means the righteous possess authority and dominion.
Consider the life of Joseph.

In Genesis 37:7, Joseph had a dream:
For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.
When Joseph shared his dream with his brothers, it was as though he said something like: “We were binding sheaves, and my sheaf stood upright. I don’t know if your sheaves were crooked, but mine was upright.”

His sheaf represented his character, life and destiny. When it stood upright, his brothers’ sheaves bowed before it.
The lesson here is clear: the crooked must bow to the upright.
In Genesis 37:8, his brothers asked him,
Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us?
They hated him even more because of his dreams and words.
Beloved, please understand that to be upright is to possess dominion. But if you are crooked in life, you cannot walk in dominion.

Remember this: To be upright is to possess dominion.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Make up your mind to live an upright life.
2. Exercise the dominion of the righteous and take charge of your territory for God.

PRAYER: Father, I receive the grace to live an upright life so I can walk in dominion. Deliver me from every form of crookedness, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
