TOPIC: DEDICATION TO GOD
SCRIPTURE: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Mathew 6:33
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot be dedicated to God and not know.
There are many church people, but not many of them are dedicated children of God. Members of the church are many, but dedicated people are few. People who patronise churches are plenty, but people that heaven can count on are few.
The truth is, you cannot be dedicated to God and not know. You cannot be dedicated to God and God is not aware: God knows, you know, and the devil knows.
Even satan, the devil confirmed that Job feared the Lord in Job 1:9.
Now, what is dedication to God?
- It means being sold out to God.
Paul the Apostle says in Galatians 2:20, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Being sold out to God means you don’t have a say even in your own life. That is, you don’t have the final say on matters of your own life and destiny; God has the first place, and He has the final say. And the good news is that His commandments are not grievous (1 John 5:3).
- It is being a promoter and defender of God and His cause in the earth.
These are the kind of people they usually accuse of carrying the church on their heads.
Exodus 32:26 says, Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD’S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.
Dedication to God is taking sides with God. There are many sides to take, but you take the side of God when you are dedicated to Him. You know, in many circumstances of life, many people don’t take a definite side. They are only busy castigating God and the church while they live in a realm of no risk. They can’t take a blow for God.
One of our children was in a class sometime ago and an atheist lecturer was talking anyhow about God. He said there was neither God nor heaven. And the child stood up and said, “Excuse me, sir, it is possible that you don’t believe in God; it is also possible that you don’t fear God. But I would like you to know that in this class, there are people who believe in God, and who know that God exists.” That statement shook the lecturer up, and at the end, the lecturer apologised, “I’m so sorry; you are right. I am meant to respect the faith of others.”
Many people today journey through life on the path of least resistance. I am trusting the Lord to see again in this generation the kind of Christianity we saw in the 70s and early 80s. That is the kind of Christianity where your voice is heard when there is a need to be heard, especially in defence of God and His cause in the earth.
REMEMBER THIS: You cannot be dedicated to God and not know.

- Make it a point of duty to be a promoter and defender of God and His cause in the earth.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your Word to me today. I receive the grace to live a life of dedication to you, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
