SCRIPTURE: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer is the platform for the establishment of the Rule and the Will of God in the earth.

Prayer is a major weapon for the successful Christian. No one can grow in life above his prayer life. We are expected to pray as we breathe. This is what it means to pray without ceasing (2 Thessalonians 5:17) because the only thing we do without ceasing is breathing.

However, many people do not pray effectively because they do not understand the true meaning of prayer.

In our study today, I will give you two definitions of prayer.
i. Prayer is the platform for the offering of thanks, praise and worship to God (Matthew 6:9).
Prayer is the platform for the offering of thanks, praise and worship to God. So, asking God for things should not be the focus of prayer anytime we pray. There is prayer that is targeted towards the offering of thanks, praise and worship only; it is called the prayer of adoration. So, if you spent one hour in prayer and all that you did was to worship and praise Him, it is prayer indeed.

ii. Prayer is the platform for the establishment of the Rule and the Will of God in the earth (Matthew 6:10)
Prayer is the platform for the establishment of the Rule and the Will of God in the earth.

An example is when we pray for our nation, Nigeria, we establish the Rule of God in our land. Prayer is a platform where we enforce and establish the Will and Purpose of God in the earth. In prayer, we decide that what God wants must happen. Truth is, the Will of God can only be enforced at the place of prayer.

REMEMBER THIS: Prayer is the platform for the establishment of the Rule and the Will of God in the earth.
