SCRIPTURE: And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:
And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. Exodus 16:2-3
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is one thing to come out of captivity, but it is another thing to get into your destiny.
The story of the children of Israel in Exodus 16 (in the wilderness) is a very pathetic one. These were people God brought out of Egypt after 430 years of slavery. They suffered untold hardships, but eventually, God brought them out by His Power.
However, on their way to the Promised Land, they murmured against God over every little thing. It looked like they were not really free or valued their freedom.
While in Egypt, they were under severe afflictions, and God sent Moses to rescue them by the display of many signs and wonders, even to the point of drowning Pharaoh and the whole Army of Egypt in the Red Sea.
But shockingly, even though they came out of captivity in Egypt, they still died in the wilderness without reaching the Land of Promise.
Though Pharaoh who was on their neck had been buried in the Red Sea; the witches and wizards, the gods of Egypt, familiar and ancestral spirits, and generational curses that plagued them have all been dealt with and they were out of Egypt, yet, they perished in the wilderness. Thus, they came out of Egypt, but could not enter the Promised Land.
You see, it is one thing to come out of captivity, but it is another thing to get into your destiny.
There are many people today whom God has delivered from every form of captivity, bondage and curse of the world, yet, they cannot fulfil their destiny.
Many people have been delivered from captivity, but died without seeing the fulfilment of God’s purpose for their lives. And a major reason for this tragedy as we can see from the story of the children of Israel is murmuring. They murmured against God and died in the wilderness except Joshua, Caleb and their children. But that will not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.
My counsel is, refuse the attitude of murmuring in order to enter into the fullness of God’s plan, promise and purpose for your life.
Remember this: It is one thing to come out of captivity, but it is another thing to get into your destiny.
