SCRIPTURE: But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: What you look at affects what you look like.
The Scripture makes it clear that children of God are meant to dwell in the Glory of God. And beholding the glorious Image of God transforms us into the same Image from Glory to Glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). That is, the more of God we behold at the place of prayer and the study of the Word, the more like God we become.
Now, what are the keys to experiencing the Glory of God?
i. Communion with God
Moses remained on the mountain communing with God, and he never knew that while the discussion was going on, he was being saturated, and impacted with the Glory of God (Exodus 34:29-35).
2 Corinthians 3:18 says,
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
The truth is, what you look at affects what you look like.
ii. Revelation from God
Moses received the tablets of the Ten Commandments from God when he dwelt in God’s Presence. That was revelation, light and insight from God, and that fuelled the Glory.
Isaiah 60:1 says,
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
iii. Obedience to Divine instruction
The miracle of obedience was the miracle that took place at the wedding in Cana of Galilee and triggered the release of the Glory.
John 2:11 says,
This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
Mary said unto the servants, ‘…Whatever he saith unto you, do it (John 2:5).
You need to ask God today, “Father, Is there any instruction I am ignoring? Is there any command I am negotiating? Is there something you want me to do that I am arguing with You because of disobedience? Have mercy on me Lord. Help me not to miss the Glory by disobedience.”
Beloved, determine to spend time with God at the place of prayer and the study of the Word; get light from the Word and obey God promptly, so you can experience His Glory in your life.
Remember this: What you look at affects what you look like.
1. Make up your mind to dwell in the Glory of God by upright living, spending quality time with God in worship, prayers, and study of the Word.
2. Prioritize your personal relationship with God; and obey God’s Word promptly.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask for the grace to maintain a constant relationship with You. Show me Your Word and help me to obey Your Word so I can experience Your Glory, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
