SCRIPTURE: Not slothful in business, fervent in spirit, serving the lord. Romans 12:11.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: One key to the life of fire and fervency in spirit is praying in the Holy Spirit.
Our anchor Scripture reveals that God’s intention for us as Christians is for us to always be on fire spiritually. God does not want His children to be slothful in life but fervent or fire-full in spirit.
Now, one key to the life of fire and fervency in the spirit is praying in the Holy Spirit.
I want you to know that God does not answer watered-down prayers. God is not interested in prayers that are waterized.
In James 5:16b, the Bible did not say that the effectual watered-down prayer of a righteous man availeth much; it did not say that the ineffective watered-down prayer of an unrighteous man prevaileth much. Rather, it says,
“…The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”
“Effectual fervent prayer” means prayer that is flaming; it is prayer on fire or high temperature prayer. It is heated prayer, a prayer from the heart of a volcano.
This is the kind of prayer that has great effect. The way some people pray confirms that they are not serious with what they are saying. They engage in watered-down prayer. When they pray, nobody, and nothing is moved, because even themselves are not moved by what they are saying.
This is the kind of prayer that people pray and sleep at the same time. They sleep in between the prayers. .
Beloved, determine never to pray and sleep at the same time. If you want to pray, pray and if you want to sleep, sleep.
Remember this: One key to the life of fire and fervency in spirit is praying in the Holy Spirit.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Do not let your destiny slip away through sleep. Refuse to be a lazy and sleepy Christian.
2. Make up your mind to always be on fire by praying in the Spirit constantly.
PRAYER: Lord, I reject every form of lukewarm spirituality. I ask that You set me on fire as I pray in the Spirit always, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
