SCRIPTURE: Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness. Psalm 29:2.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A thanks-giver does not only give God praise and worship from his lips; he also gives God his substances.
One thing that thanksgiving communicates is a giving attitude or lifestyle. In every thanksgiving, there is a giving.
Thanksgiving implies generosity and goodness.
Thanksgiving involves the communication of generosity or goodness. Thanksgiving is a form of giving because it involves giving, generosity and showing the act of kindness.
A “thanks-giver” is a giver; he gives, and the first thing he gives is thanks.
A “thanks-giver” is a generous and good person. He gives or releases goodness.
This means, thanksgiving shows that you are a good person. A bad person doesn’t say “Thank you” to anyone.
It may sound provoking but the truth is, you cannot be a good person if you don’t know how to give thanks; ingratitude is a character of bad people.
People who do not give thanks are bad people; they have an entitlement mentality.
Psalms 29:2 says,
Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
Good people do not deprive people of their rights. A “thanks-giver” gives to the Lord. A thanks-giver releases his life and resources to the Lord. A thanks-giver does not only give God praise and worship from his lips; he also gives God his substances. A thanks-giver is a person of sacrifice. There is nothing that is too big that he cannot give to God in appreciation of Him or for the expansion of His Kingdom.
A thanks-giver also gives to men; he releases his resources for the benefit of humanity. He gives to bless the lives of others.
Remember this: A thanksgiver does not only give God praise and worship from his lips, he also gives God his substances.
