THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The people who expect to be given such money are in the same class with those who encourage them by giving it to them.
Bribery has become a social, cultural and economic epidemic in our society today. We live in a generation where bribery has eaten deep into the fabrics of our society.
Someone expects to be given money or a gift before doing their jobs, even for something as little as pushing a file. Every form of inducement is evil before God.
Some people give out contracts to contractors with the agreement to get certain amount of money from the contractors after the contracts are executed. It is a terrible practice.
Some government officials who work with regulatory bodies usually take advantage of the organizations they regulate. When they go for regular supervisory assignments, they expect the organizations being supervised to give them money in order to write good reports about them.
For instance, when a school which has met all requirements for accreditation is being supervised, the supervisory team still expects the school management to bribe them before they accredit the school. That is a corrupt practice!
The people who expect to be given such money are in the same class with those who encourage them by giving it to them. This is because if one person says NO, and another person says NO, and a third person says NO….then the system has begun to change for good.
Beloved, what to do if such evil demands for money are made is to ask the people making them to bring official receipts that can be acknowledged and presented to authorities later to show that such money was collected. Make up your mind to influence society and systems positively.
Remember this: The people who expect to be given such money are in the same class with those who encourage them by giving it to them.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Refuse to give or take bribe.
2. Campaign against bribery and corruption. Take a stand even if you are going to stand alone.
PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to resist the temptation of bribery and corruption. Help me to represent You rightly, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
