THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Revelation makes us see the situation while direction shows us what to do about the situation.
Revelation and direction are two critical necessities for life and destiny fulfillment.
Revelation is when God shows you what is happening; direction is when He tells you what to do about it. Revelation makes us see the situation while direction shows us what to do about the situation.
The interpretation of Pharaoh’s dream by Joseph exemplifies how revelation could be accompanied with direction in dissolving the mysteries of life. When Joseph was called to interpret Pharaoh’s dreams, he did not only give Pharaoh the revelation but also gave him the direction on what to do about the dreams.
Joseph told Pharaoh that the two dreams meant that there would be seven years of abundance which would be followed by another seven years of scarcity. That was revelation.
The direction Joseph gave to Pharaoh was to appoint a wise person to be set over the affairs of Egypt. The person would be entrusted with the work of gathering the leftovers of foods from the seven years of abundance to cushion the effects of the seven years of scarcity that would follow immediately.
God, who gave Joseph the revelation, also gave him the direction on how to handle the impending disaster of famine.
This confirms the fact that when God shows you what is going to happen, He also tells you what to do about it.
Authentic revelation is usually accompanied with valid direction. Revelation is light, and when light arrives, you will see which way to go. You become aware of how to get out of a situation.
Beloved, it is not enough to know what is wrong; it is important to know how to handle it. This is what revelation and direction do – showing you what is happening or going to happen, and showing you what to do about it.
Remember this: Revelation makes us see the situation while direction shows us what to do about the situation.
