SCRIPTURE: Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips. Hosea 14:2.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot be worded and be prayerless. To be wordful is to be prayerful.
The Scripture admonishes us to give ourselves continually to the ministry of prayer and the Word (Acts 6:4). The Word of God is the life of a child of God.
In our study today, we shall be looking at two products of the Word of God:
i. The Word of God brings joy
In Psalm 119:162, the Bible says, I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.
The Word of God brings joy (Jeremiah 15:16).
You cannot be worded and be depressed. Some people are surprised when they see us dance all the time. The secret of the joy is the Word of God.
The Word of God is the therapy for depression and despair. Either the Words you read in Scripture or the Word that is preached can bring you joy and excitement in life.
ii. The Word is fuel for Prayer
The Word of God and prayer are inextricably connected. The Word of God is fuel for prayer.
Hosea 14:2 says, Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
Every time you carry Word, you turn to God in prayer. Anytime you find new revelation, it moves you to express it in prayer.
You cannot be worded and be prayerless (John 15:7). Many people do not pray because they lack what to say; and they lack what to say because they lack the Word. But when you are full of Word, prayer is an effortless flow. Having a word of prayer is not a matter of vocabulary but a question of the right Word to talk to God about from His Word.
When you are worded, you will have so much to tell God about your family, nation, etc. You cannot be worded and be prayerless. To be wordful is to be prayerful.
Remember this: You cannot be worded and be prayerless. To be wordful is to be prayerful.
ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Turn to God in prayer whenever you see new insight from the Word.
2. After praying, put the Word to practice.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You give me fresh light from Your Word. I receive the grace to pray Your Word, and reap joy and fulfilment in life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
