SCRIPTURE: Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. Psalms 42:5.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Even God cannot help a man who has no hope because faith is the substance of things hoped for.

Hopelessness has been identified as a trap of the enemy to frustrate the people of God. Hopelessness is a situation where a person doesn’t see any future ahead of them. A hopeless person looks forward to nothing good in life.

Hopelessness makes a person to be depressed even in the midst of abundance.

Psalms 42:5 says,
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

Where there is no hope, there is no help; the loss of hope is the lack of help. Hopelessness is helplessness. Even God cannot help a man who has no hope because faith is the substance of things hoped for.

So, without hope, there cannot be faith, and without faith, God cannot be pleased because without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11: 6).

Also, where there is no hope, there can be no change.

Job 14:14 says,
If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

Whenever you give up, you go down. Whenever you give up, it is impossible to go up.

Hope says, “My story will change some day. God is too faithful to fail. The devil can never defeat God in my life. The Word of God is true in my case and to him that is joined to the living, there is hope.”

Beloved, make up your mind and refuse to be hopeless. Put your hope in God and in His Word.

Remember this: Even God cannot help a man that has no hope because faith is the substance of things hoped for.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Refuse to accommodate hopeless and depressive thoughts.
2. Hope both in God and in His Word always.

PRAYER: Lord, I reject the spell of hopelessness. I receive the grace to remain hopeful in You so I can connect Your Help, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
